Kudelski Group subsidiaries OpenTV and Nagra France have filed a patent infringement suit against Verizon Communications and its subsidiary AOL.
The lawsuit, filed in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, alleges that Verizon and AOL infringe seven US patents owned by OpenTV and Nagra France.
The Kudelski companies claim that the infringing products and services include Verizon’s FiOS TV services, FiOS TV Everywhere services, Verizon’s Redbox Instant and Go90 video services and AOL’s Spot On advertising and streaming video services.
Digital security firm Kudelski Group is listed on the Swiss Stock Exchange and its technologies are used in a range of services and applications designed to secure the revenues of content owners and service providers for digital television.
