Roku adds Google Play Movies and TV store

RokuRoku has added the Google Play Movies and TV store to its streaming players in the UK and Ireland and US and Canada. 

The Google Play store joins Roku’s channel line-up and lets users pay to watch TV series or movies – including new-release films like 22 Jump Street and Let’s Be Cops that are available through the store ahead of their DVD release.

Google Play Movies and TV is available now in Roku’s Channel Store on current-generation Roku Players. This refers to all Roku players introduced after June 2011 and includes the Roku 1, Roku 2 and Roku 3 boxes and Roku Streaming Stick,

Roku said that support for the Google Play Movies and TV store is also due to be added soon to Roku TV sets.
