Live sports streaming service, DAZN, has renewed its rights deal with Lega Serie A to air the Italian football league in Italy until 2029.

Serie A will broadcast live on DAZN, with coverage including seven exclusive matches per match day, amounting to 266 out of 380 matches per season, and three co-exclusive matches per match day, totalling to 114 matches per season.

The streamer which labels itself the leader in European football, has also long-term deals for Spain’s LaLiga and Germany’s Bundesliga.

Expanding its coverage of women’s football, DAZN recently acquired this rights to broadcast the Italian women’s football competition, Serie A Femminile, in Spain, Italy, the US, the UK, Germany, Canada, Portugal, Belgium, Japan and Austria.

Sky Italia has also picked up co-exclusive rights to air three matches per match day for a total of 114 Serie A games per season.

Starting from the 2024/2025 season, programming on the Comcast-owned broadcaster will also include highlights of all 380 matches, archive rights for the current season and exclusive rights to all Serie A matches for bars, hotels and other public venues.

“We are thrilled with this result. Remaining the go-to platform for Serie A TIM and the main partner of Lega Serie A demonstrates the solidity of the partnership developed in recent years, of which we are extremely proud,” said Stefano Azzi, CEO DAZN Italy. “Having in front of us, for the first time, a five-year time horizon and having set, also economically, our offer in the tender on a logic of sharing the growth we expect from the Italian market, lays the foundations for a fruitful and constructive relationship with Lega Serie A and the Clubs. We look forward to starting this innovative development path to further increase the value of the Serie A product by bringing it, in new ways, to a wider audience.”
