AT&T has reached a multi-year deal with HBO to offer the latter’s content across all its platforms, including its forthcoming DirecTV Now streaming service.
The agreement marks a renewal of HBO’s existing contract with AT&T’s DirecTV and U-verse services and will make all HBO and Cinemax content available on DirecTV Now, which is due to roll out by the end of the year.
HBO and Cinemax content will also be available as part of AT&T mobile video bundle offers, details of which AT&T said would be available at a later date.
“With this agreement, we have created easy access to subscribe and consume HBO’s premium content across all of our platforms,” said AT&T’s chief content officer, Dan York.
“This is a first-of-its-kind deal for both companies and a big win for consumers, building off AT&T’s industry-leading scale as an HBO distributor for the benefit of our wireless, broadband, and entertainment customer base.”

Financial details of the deal were not disclosed.
