Google has added a Sling TV app to its Android TV platform, bringing the Dish Network-owned Sling Media OTT service to users of the platform in the US.
Sling TV offers 22 channels for US$20 (€18) a month, including sports service ESPN and its SportsCenter highlights service. For an additional US$15, users can add an HBO premiu package, bringing content including Game of Thrones and True Detective to the platform.
The Android Sling TV app is available on tablets and smartphones as well as TV. The service is also available on Google’s Nexus Players in the US. As a promotional offer, Sling is providing a Nexus Player at a 50% discount to subscribers who sign up to Sling TV for three months.
