Telefónica had 8.3 million TV customers at the end of the year, up 12% year-on-year, with strong growth of 10% recorded in Spain alongside growth of 16% in Spanish-speaking Latin America and 10% in the economically challenged Brazilian market.
Overall, Telefónica added 117,000 pay TV customers in the quarter to December, including 4.6 million satellite TV customers. The rate of growth was 12% higher than for the same period in 2014.
Video revenues for the group in the quarter reached €628 million, up 14% on the same period in 2014. Video revenues for the full year amounted to €2.142 billion, up 27.3%.
Pay TV penetration among Movistar Fusión customers in Spain reached 62%. Telefónica had 3.7 million pay TV customers in Spain at the end of December, including 926,000 from the former Canal+ operation.
Overall, Telefónica posted full-year revenues of €47.2 billion, up 8.7%, and Net income of €2.74 billion, down 8.5%.
