Sky Deutschland rolls out Snap OTT service to Samsung Galaxy devices

Sky Deutschland has today launched an Android version of its Snap OTT service for Samsung Galaxy smartphones and tablets.

The online media expansion makes the store available on the Samsung Galaxy S III and Galaxy S4 smartphones and the Galaxy Tab 2 and Galaxy Tab 3 tablets, with the app available to download on these devices free of charge from the Google Play store until the end of the month.

Sky launched Snap at the end of last year, offering thousands of titles – including TV season box-sets, HBO library content, movies and children’s programmes – to existing Sky Deutschland customers as well as non-subscribers.

Non-Sky subscribers pay €9.90 per month with only a month-to-month commitment, while existing Sky customers can also access the service for an additional €4.90 per-month, acting as a compliment to Sky Deutschland’s existing Sky Go and Sky Anytime VOD offerings.

“It is our goal to offer Snap to an audience as big as possible and give our customers more and more possibilities to watch programmes they love on their favourite devices. That’s why we are excited to cooperate with Samsung making Snap available on their most popular smartphones and tablets,” said Alice Mascia, vice president of strategy at Sky Deutschland.

Sky initially rolled out Snap via the web, iPad and Samsung Smart TVs.
