Virgin Media is relaunching its on-demand movies service as Virgin Movies.
The service is available to Virgin Media TV customers via the operator’s cable network and to non-Virgin customers via an online platform. Online users can choose to stream or download over 500 movies, which start from £1.99 (€2.48) per title.
Virgin Media said the relaunch comes after research from ICM found that around one in four people said they struggled to access films they wanted to watch.
Aleks Habdank, digital entertainment product director at Virgin Media, said “Whether you’re a Virgin Media customer or not, wanting to see a recent great film when and however it suits, is universal. So the extension of the Virgin name to our movies service is an indication of just how proud we are of the fantastic breadth and depth of ever-changing cinematic content we offer. With Virgin Movies available online, we’re ensuring people who can’t or haven’t yet got our cable services get a taste of what Virgin TV is all about.”
