Forthnet Group has signed a deal with Eutelsat that will see it bundle the satellite operator’s broadband service with its Greek pay TV platform Nova.
Eutelsat said its broadband affiliate Skylogic had signed a five year distribution agreement enabling Forthnet to market the Tooway broadband service across Greece and Cyrpus. The deal also ensures future satellite capacity for Nova at Eutelsat’s Hot Bird video neighbourhood.
Forthnet will be the first operator in Europe to bundle Tooway with a pay TV offering in order to offer users triple-play services through a single satellite dish and a single subscription. Satellite broadband, with download speeds of up to 10Mbps and upload speeds of up to 4Mbps, together with VOIP, will start to be commercialised in the fourth quarter of 2011 and offered in combination with Nova pay TV.
