Telekom Austria selects Agama for satellite monitoring

Telekom Austria has selected Agama Technologies to provide quality assurance services for its new satellite pay-TV platform. 

Agama will monitor and give service assurance to Telekom Austria Group’s direct2home product, which is targeted at broadcasting companies and telecommunication operators in Central and Eastern Europe.

Telekom Austria Group launched its direct2home service at IBC. It is designed to let teleco companies enter the pay-TV business via Eutelsat’s 16 degrees East orbital position without investing heavily in infrastructure.

The first telco to deploy the new platform, with service quality assurance provided by Agama, is Telekom Austria Group’s Croatian subsidiary Vipnet, which will offer direct2home services to its existing cable TV customer base on the Croatian market.
