Viaplay comes to Roku devices in the US, Canada and UK

Nordic-based Viaplay Group has secured a deal with Roku, to bring its streaming service to Roku devices in the US, Canada and the UK.

Viaplay is known for its Nordic Noir premium drama from the Nordic region, including crime thrillers, young adult shows, historical dramas, documentaries and much more. From today, viewers in all three countries can subscribe directly to Viaplay’s full local offerings via Roku.

In December, Viaplay Group and Roku announced it will add Viaplay to The Roku Channel’s premium subscriptions line-up in the US.

The launch sees Viaplay subscribers in the US and Canada delivered with over 1,500 hours of content, alongside curated third-party content. The North America slate includes the young adult drama Threesome, the critically rated biopic The Dreamer – Becoming Karen Blixen and US-Swedish crime series Cell 8.

Whereas Viaplay viewers in the UK, alongside its drama and film offering will be provided with live sports such as the UEFA Euro 2024 Qualifiers, LaLiga and Scottish Cup, United Rugby Championship and NHL ice hockey.
