Megacable announces wide rollout of Xview+ OTT platform

Mexican pay TV operator Megacable is to expand its Xview+ OTT service across the country.

The service, which previously launched in a limited form, promises to merge the operator’s best content in one place and create a unified user experience.

The launch is enabled by Orange Group-owned Viaccess-Orca (VO), with its TV Platform solution being used for its unified content management and multi-device delivery capabilities. The platform includes an end-to-end security solution for content protection, with content encryption, device authentication, license management, and parental control.

Gerardo Seifert, CMO at Megacable, said: “As we expand the reach of our Xview+ service nationwide across Mexico, it is critical to partner with a technology provider with extensive OTT deployment expertise and on-the-ground support. VO’s TV Platform is supported by a rich ecosystem of partners (including Dotscreen, Broadpeak, Technicolor, ZTE, and Oregan) and a dedicated local engineering team that will simplify the roll out of this exciting service.”

Philippe Leonetti, CEO of Viaccess-Orca, said: “Xview+ is available on Android TV set-top boxes, bringing an unparalleled video streaming experience to millions of Megacable subscribers in Mexico. As the most complete solution for operating OTT services, our TV Platform simplifies content preparation, management, delivery, protection, and personalization. With our platform, Megacable can deliver a seamless cross-screen user experience, increasing their viewer engagement and revenues.”
