DAZN enters Spanish commercial premises market with Orange

Sports streamer DAZN is to enter the commercial premises market in Spain in partnership with Orange. The streaming outfit will launch a new linear channel, DAZN fútbol, which will be available in Orange’s television offer for venues, such as bars, cafes and restaurants, and which will broadcast live and exclusive coverage of the Premier League in Spain.

This is the first commercial premises deal closed by DAZN in Spain, which allows it to extend the sport viewing experience beyond the residential market for the first time.

The agreement with Orange will meant that the latter, which already provides access to La Liga and (UEFA Champions League and Europa League football, setting it apart from rivals, will become the first operator to offer the Premier League for businesses in Spain.

Orange will add DAZN’s coverage of the 2020-21 Premier League season to its business premises offering, providing access to business owners subscribing to any of the Love products, as well as to the television package Orange TV Bares.

DAZN fútbol is available for €30 per month without a fixed term contract and is accessible to both current and new customers of LOVE Empresa..

DAZN already has a commercial premises business in Germany and Italy. In Germany, content available to venues includes coverage of the UEFA Champions League and the Bundesliga. In Italy, its commercial premises offering shows exclusive Serie A and Serie B fixtures.

Angelica Sánchez Plaza, SAME and SoHo business director at Orange Spain said: “Thanks to this agreement with DAZN, Orange once again stands out in the Spanish telecom market, offering added value to owners of bars and cafes, which, at such difficult time for the sector, have an even richer entertainment offer thanks to Orange, to attract customers to their establishments.”

Paul Sexton-Chadwick, SVP, global commercial propositions, DAZN Group, said: “As DAZN continues to roll out around the world, the launch of our commercial premises offering in Spain is a key part of our strategy to extend the DAZN viewing experience to the out of home market. By forming these partnerships and investing now, we’re creating affordable products and services that businesses can use to attract more people into their venues and bring people back to hospitality as the sector recovers.”
