Sunrise offers ‘rotating’ Samsung TV to internet customers

Swiss service provider Sunrise has begun marketing Samsung’s Sero, a new 43-inch TV that can rotate between horizontal and vertical display modes, which the operator is making available on a 24-month installment plan.

The Sero, which is only available in a handful of countries enables users to switch between the different display orientations depending on the content. The TV adapts to the desired content and displays series and movies in landscape format and mobile content or apps in portrait format.

Sunrise is the only Swiss telco to market the device. The Sero is on display in 20 selected Sunrise stores throughout Switzerland. The service provider is offering the TV as part of its accessory plan, available with a monthly payment plan from CHF71 a month for 24 months, in conjunction with an internet subscription from Sunrise.

Sunrise claims to be the first Swiss telecom provider to enable its customers to buy Internet and TV devices purchased along with an Internet subscription, and paying for them in 24 monthly installments.

In addition to the Sero, the product catalogue includes two Samsung TV models in different sizes, a Sonos Beam Soundbar, a 32 GB iPad, and 4K Apple TV.

Sunrise’s TV neo app, which supports 4K UHD streaming, is available on Samsung’s smart TV platform as well as on smartphones, tablets, PCs and Apple TV.

Sunrise Internet customers can buy up to five devices with the telco’s accessory plan with a minimum down-payment of CHF1.
