Mediaset España launches international pay streaming service

Mediaset España has launched an international version of its Mitele Plus subscription streaming service.

For €3 per month or €30 per year, viewers can sign up for international access to the Mitele Plus Basic package, including programmes from the group’s existing international channel CincoMas, which is transferring its linear content to an à-la-carte on-demand distribution format.

CincoMas was launched in 2016, aimed at Spanish speakers in the Americas, following the launch of international services by rival broadcaster Atresmedia.

The new OTT TV offering will be available globally and will offer access to all Mitele Plus Basic content and additional exclusive content, according to the broadcaster.

The service will be available both online and via mobile apps and will soon be rolled out for access via Smart TV. The service offers access to all live and à-la-carte platform content and allows users to download content for offline viewing on mobile apps.

Subscribers will have access to exclusive content and a live restart function, with access to the platform via social networks. The catalogue of both live and à-la-carte content varies from market to market, subject to distribution rights and programme sales to other operators outside Spain by Mediterráneo Mediaset España Group in the case of in-house productions and co-productions, including fiction.

The content available on the platform includes daily news from current affairs channel Informativos Telecinco; in-house productions by Mediaset España, a catalogue of Spanish and international drama; a selection of films produced by Telecinco Cinema and docusoaps, mini-series, game shows, talent shows and sporting events.
