Noggin and Paramount+ get extended free trials in Latin America amid pandemic

ViacomCBS’s American division – ViacomCBS Networks Americas (VCNA) – has announced extended 1-month trial periods for its OTT streaming services in Latin America.

Starting from the week of April 13, new users in Latin America (excluding Brazil) will be able to access kids streamer Noggin and entertainment service Paramount+ for free. The company said that it is offering “access to the best educational and entertainment services in Spanish while many are currently homebound and unable to attend school or work”.

Noggin is the OTT service of Nick Jr., with ViacomCBS claiming it to be the “top-ranked interactive learning subscription service for preschoolers”. It offers long and short-form Nick Jr. content featuring favourites such as PAW Patrol, Blaze and Dora The Explorer.

Paramount+ is a broader entertainment SVOD from VCNA, and combines content from ViacomCBS’s brands such as MTV, Comedy Central and Nickelodeon, along with local original content. Flagship shows on Paramount+ include The Handmaids’ Tale, Killing Eve and Schitt’s Creek.

Both streamers are typically offered with a seven-day trial, but VCNA has expanded that to one month.

VCNA joins the likes of WarnerMedia, Comcast, AMC and Insight TV in opening up their SVOD platforms amid the coronavirus pandemic.
