SPI International takes channels to Iflix

Channel provider SPI International has struck an agreement with Asian subscription video-on-demand platform Iflix to provide six of its linear channels and VOD content on the Iflix platform.

SPI International will provide channels Gametoon, Fast&FunBox, DocuBox, FightBox, FashionBox and 360 TuneBox on the IflixVIP premium platform, with FashionBox and 360 TuneBox also available on iflixFREE, the free-to-view version of Iflix.

This multi-year pan-regional carriage deal includes iflix’s 13 Asian territories, including Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand, Brunei, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Myanmar, Vietnam, the Maldives, Cambodia, Nepal and Bangladesh.

“We are proud to include six of our channels and VOD content to iflix’s unlimited access platform. SPI believes that this carriage deal fits the new markets and platforms appearing today in order to cater to the company’s younger audience,” said Murat Muratoglu, SPI’s head of distribution for MENA, Turkey, APAC, Russia and CIS, Baltics, Bulgaria and ex-Yugoslavia.

Craig Galvin, Iflix global head of content, said: “iflix’s focus on the coveted GenZ and millennial demographic is demonstrated through our collaboration with SPI International. We’re thrilled to offer our customers across Asia direct access to premium linear channels that include music, fashion, action and combat sports, factual content and eSports on premium dedicated channels in our mission to deliver the most engaging, culturally relevant content to this rapidly growing and influential group.”
