Videoamp appoints former FreeWheel exec as CFO

RTL Group and Mediaocean-backed Videoamp has appointed former FreeWheel COO and CFO, as its first chief financial officer.

Schmitt will lead financial and accounting functions across the company, as well as providing overall operational direction alongside VideoAmp’s co-founder and CEO, Ross McCray.

Last month Videoamp raised US$21.4 million in a Series B funding round led by Mediaocean.

Aditional investment came from RTL Group, GoAhead Ventures, StartUp Capital Ventures, Anthem Venture Partners, Wavemaker Partners and Simon Equity Partners.

The round brought the total funds raised by Videamp to date to US$36.6 million.

VideoAmp is an integrated TV operating system for the convergence of linear TV and digital video advertising.
