Polsat’s Ipla joins Onet’s vod.pl

Screen Shot 2017-09-07 at 13.06.26Polish commercial and pay TV broadcaster Polsat Group has struck a deal to make its Ipla OTT TV service available via vod.pl, the on-demand portal from leading internet group Onet.

The Ipla player will be embedded within the Vod.pl portal, allowing Vod.pl to feature content from Ipla such as

Maciej stec, member of the management board of Cyfrowy Polsat and Telewizja Polsat, said that the time was right to extend Polsat’s cooperation with Onet. He said that the move would increase the viewership of content on Ipla.

Polsat’s rival TVN Group has also struck a deal to take its own online TV service, Player.pl, to vod.pl. TVN’s Player will be added to vod.pl under a similar arrangement, with technical support and advertising sales retained by the broadcaster.

Mark Dekan, CEO of Onet-RAS Polska Group, referring to the Polsat agreement, said that Onet’s move had the potential to change the face of the VOD business in Poland.
