Vice Media’s lifestyle and entertainment channel Viceland has extended its reach in the Benelux region through a carriage deal with Belgian telco Proximus.
Viceland will be available on the Proximus TV platform in Wallonia from June 1, and will be available in Flanders and Brussels on a separate channel.
At launch in Wallonia, subtitled and dubbed French programming will include content such as Needles & Pins with Grace Neutral, Noisey with Zach Gouldbaum and Gaycation S2 with Ellen Page. The deal also offers extra distribution in Flanders and Brussels, adding to Viceland’s existing partnership with Telenet.
Viceland will also be available as catch-up content as part of Proxium’s Everywhere service, with multiscreen, replay TV and on-demand offerings to follow.
Stefan Tieleman, general manager, Viceland Benelux said: “Only two months after our initial launch in Benelux, this additional deal in Belgium is testament to our on-going growth ambitions in the territory. Proximus is an ideal home for the channel, sharing a core belief that Viceland’s story-telling and award-winning content should be accessible to audiences the way they want to view it: across all screens, anytime, anywhere.”
Viceland launched in the Benelux region on March 1 after hiring former Talpa Media and Twitter executive Tieleman to head up its operation in the region.
In the Netherlands, the service is available on Ziggo, the Liberty Global and Vodafone-owned cable service.
