Twitter has teamed with the US NBA and Samsung to provide 360° video coverage of basketball.
Twitter has distributed its first NBA content in the format, delivering 360° video of behind the scenes content around a game between the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Golden State Warriors. The NBA showed warm-up action and post-game footage filmed using the Samsung Gear 360 camera on Twitter.
The move is the latest foray by Twitter into video, which has marketed itself to content publishers as a platform that can enable them to make additional revenue from video through the Twitter Amplify initiative.
