Trace is due to launch five thematic channels on US over-the-top service YipTV early next year.

The carriage deal is for celebrity sport channel Trace Sport Stars, and four music channels – Trace Gospel, Trace Tropical, Trace Toca and Trace Africa.

The Trace Gospel agreement marks the channel’s first launch in the US, less than a month after its worldwide premiere.

“This carriage deal demonstrates the appetite for multicultural audiences in the US for the Trace channels. The launch of Trace Gospel, a music channel exclusively dedicated to gospel music, also gives a hint about the channel’s potential and positive reception in the U.S., a major market for the gospel music genre,” said Trace vice-president of distribution, Timothée Vidal.

YipTV launched earlier this year and targets Hispanics and other multilingual groups in the US with live TV broadcasts from around the world.
