YouTube to open creator studio in Rio

YouTube is due to open a YouTube Space studio for content creators in Rio de Janeiro, marking the latest expansion of its global studios footprint.

YouTube Space Rio will be located in a renovated warehouse in the city’s soon-to-be-renovated port area,Porto Maravilha, and will include a 2,000 sq-meter collaborative facility, equipped with cameras, lights and audio gear, and live- and post-production facilities.

Last month YouTube partnered with Indian film school, Whistling Woods International, to set up a studio space for YouTube content creators in Mumbai.

It opened a similar space in Berlin in May and also offers studio facilities in Los Angeles, London, Tokyo, New York and Sao Paulo, with a Paris YouTube Space reportedly due to launch soon.

“Since the first Space was inaugurated in 2012, creators have visited these facilities over 100,000 times, and our partners have created over 10,000 videos, generating over 1 billion views,” said YouTube.
