Vodafone España has struck a deal with Catalan broadcaster Mediapro to include the latter’s forthcoming joint venture BeIN Sports HD channel on Vodafone TV. The agreement will enable Vodafone to provide coverage of UEFA Champions League football to its subscribers.
BeIN Sports will offer HD overage of 120 UEFA Champions League and 205 UEFA Europa League matches along with other international football competitions including the English Premier League, France’s Ligue 1 and Italy’s Serie A.
Vodafone’s deal with Mediapro follows its agreement with Telefónica that will enable it to provide coverage of Spain’s La Liga and Copa del Rey matches to its customers in HD.
Under that deal, Vodafone will offer its subscribers a choice of 10 matches on each match day across thre channels, including the match of the day, all encounters involving Barcelona and Real Madrid and the two Clásicos featuring the pair.
Telefónica also signed a similar agreement with rival operator Orange.
