Orange in talks to take over Airtel units in Africa

Orange and  Bharti Airtel International, the Dutch-based subsidiary of the Indian telecom giant, have entered into exclusive talks on the sale of Airtel’s operations in Burkina Faso, Chad, Congo and Sierra Leone to Orange.

Orange said there was “no certainty of any binding agreement as a result of these discussions”.
