Viacom International Media Networks has named Mathias Blum as head of digital media at its Northern Europe operation.
Blum is the founder of Berlin-based video syndication business Clipkit. In his new role at Viacom he will oversee the digital strategy for all of Viacom’s channels and brands in Northern Europe including Nickelodeon, Comedy Central, MTV and Viva.
At Viacom, he will be based in Berlin and start in the digital role in November. He will report to Magnus Kastner, executive VP and managing director of VIMN Northern Europe.
“[Blum] has the strategic expertise, creative expertise and a clear vision that will help our brands develop all platforms in all countries,” Kastner said.
Prior to founding Clipkit, Blum worked at RTL’s clipfish.de and before that was at companies including Lycos and Gruner + Jahr.
