TV everywhere boosts overall viewing, says Viacom

TV applications and sites are “additive” to the TV viewing experience, with 64% of users watching more TV overall, according to research by Viacom. 

The MTV and Nickelodeon-owner said that the trend was even more pronounced among millennials, with 72% reporting they watched more TV as a result of TV everywhere.

According to the  ‘TV Here, There, (Not Quite) Everywhere’ report, a total of 98% of users said that TV everywhere adds value to the pay TV subscription, with 67% saying it adds “a lot” of value.

Some of respondents said they were 93% more likely to stay with their provider due to TV everywhere and 68% have a more favourable impression of networks that offer TV everywhere experiences.

The study was done through online surveys done by more than 1,300 Viacom viewers aged 13-49 and more than 600 kids aged 2-12.
