Ireland’s UTV goes HD on FreeSat and Sky

Northern Irish TV station UTV has launched its channel in high-definition on the FreeSat and Sky platforms for the first time. 

The launches mean that UTV is now available in HD on all TV platforms, the firm said.

In October 2010 UTV made its first HD steps by launching a high definition feed of its channel on the Virgin Media platform. It launched in HD on Freeview last year.

The two new HD versions of UTV will be available on channel 103 on Sky and 119 on Freesat from this week.
