Channel 4 deputy chairman of board appointed

UK broadcast regulator Ofcom has appointed non-exec Channel 4 board member Mark Price as deputy chairman of the Channel 4’s board. 

Price takes the roll for a three-year term that will end in September 2016. He is also managing director of Waitrose and was recently named deputy chairman of the John Lewis Partnership.

At the same time, Stewart Purvis was appointed as non-executive member to the Channel 4 board. The former ITN CEO is also professor of television journalism at City University, London.

Existing non-executives of the Board Alicja Lesniak, Monica Burch and Richard Rivers have been reappointed for three years.
