German cable technology company WISI and IP.Netcom have teamed up to provide a hybrid HbbTV and classic IPTV set-top box as part of the AiMS multiscreen content management system.
The set-top uses the ETSI DVB-IP standard and has a CI+ slot as well as embedded Conax CAS 7.5 conditoinal access with card pairing, giving end customers a choice of pay TV options.
According to WISI, reception of DVB-IPTV channels as well as the ability to detect DVB-IPTV channels via the SAP protocol is fully compliant with the respective ETSI standards.
