UK broadcaster Channel 4 is using technology supplied by Kit Digital to deliver its 4oD video-on-demand service to Windows 8-based mobile devices.
Kit Digital developed the app for the service ahead of its launch in December. The 4oD app was the first VOD app on the Windows 8 platform in the UK. The app uses the ‘snap’ feature of the platform to enable on-demand viewing while working on other things, and a ‘click to ad’ feature that allows users to click on ads to open a browser window with further information.
