UPC Ireland has launched a new digital channel that will cover the country’s Parliament. The Irish pay TV operator has launched parliamentary channel Oireachtas TV dedicated to providing coverage of the Dáil as well as external committee hearings.
The move will allow some 328,000 access to the country’s governors and increases UPC Ireland’s public service commitments. Ceann Comhairle Seán Barrett said: “I am excited by the prospect and possibilities of this project and hope that the public will use this facility to follow the work of the Houses of the Oireachtas. In time I hope that this service can be rolled out by the other TV providers so that all the citizens of Ireland can have universal access to watch and listen to their National Parliament.”
