Huawei to build out cellular network for Teracom
Swedish broadcast infrastructure provider Teracom has hired Chinese equipment manufacturer Huawei to build out a nationwide mobile network using its existing transmission tower assets, with work due to start on April 1.
Stephen Guiance, Teracom’s CEO, said the building of a cellular network fitted the company’s existing business model and infrastructure “like a glove”. Huawei’s contract provisions for the construction and maintenance of a nationwide cellular network. Teracom’s existing towers cover 99.8% of Swedish households.
