Channel 4 and Oktagon MMA sign broadcasting deal

Channel 4 is to broadcast the European marital arts competition Oktagon MMA across its platforms.

The UK pubcaster will showcase Oktagon MMA’s live events and programming on Channel 4 streaming service and the Channel 4 Sports YouTube channel.

The deal comes as the MMA organisation expands into the UK and Ireland market.

The partnership went live this week with the reality TV series, Stage to the Cage, featuring reality TV star, Jake Quickenden, and comedian, Paul Smith. The Oktagon Challenge: England vs. Ireland will also air on Channel 4’s platforms later in the month.

The first Oktagon MMA live event OKTAGON 46 will be available to stream on Channel 4 from September 16 which features the semi-finals of the €1 million Tipsport Gamechanger welterweight tournament taking place at the Festhalle Frankfurt in Germany.

“Partnering with Channel 4, marking our debut in the UK is exciting news!” said Oktagon MMA co-owner, Pavol Neruda. “We’re not just another MMA promotion; we tell stories, create documentaries, and produce TV shows that resonate with content on Channel 4. This collaboration is a testament to our shared values.”

“We are proud to show viewers in the UK ‘Stage to the Cage’ and OKTAGON Challenge: England vs. Ireland this autumn. These aren’t just shows; they’re a fresh take on MMA. Together with Channel 4, we’re eager to bring the fans unparalleled viewing experiences.”

A Channel 4 spokesperson added, “We’re delighted to introduce OKTAGON MMA to what is already a vibrant and thriving UK fight scene. They’ve shaken up Europe – these guys really know how to put on a show.”
