Invictus Games UK pubcaster BBC is to air the Invictus Games Dusseldorf 2023 on BBC iPlayer and the Red Button.

The Invictus Games will debut on BBC’s iPlayer and Red Button on Saturday September 9, with coverage concluding on September 16.

The broadcaster is to stream up to three events a day throughout the games which includes athletics, wheelchair rugby, powerlifting, wheelchair basketball, table tennis, sitting volleyball, cycling, archery and swimming.

BBC’s talk show The One Show will provide the latest news and interviews from Dusseldorf throughout the week. Presenter JJ Chalmers will also be joined by special guests to share their inspiring stories of recovery and rehabilitation.

Chalmers said: “The Invictus Games is so much more than a sports competition. The sport is fantastic and the competition is amazing, but actually that is just the vehicle through which the competitors shine. Seeing them have an impact on their own physical and mental recovery and improving the lives of their family around them is inspiring.”

Dan McGolpin, director, BBC iPlayer & Channels, added: “We’re excited to bring The Invictus Games to the UK on BBC iPlayer and Red Button where we will be streaming all the live action straight from Dusseldorf. Our viewers will be able to follow a huge range of inspirational athletes as they compete in many thrilling events.”
