Global sports streaming platform DAZN has secured a deal with Amazon that will see it become available as a Prime Video Channel. The alliance will give Prime Video customers access to DAZN content for an additional subscription fee.

DAZN CEO Shay Segev called the deal “great news for sports fans around the world with even more ways to access DAZN’s broad selection of premium sports content. We are excited to create a long-term global partnership with Prime Video as we continue to innovate in digital sports experiences for customers.”

The rollout of DAZN on Prime begins this week with Spain and Germany and will continue through the year, with Japan next in line. Other major territories where the deal is likely to have an impact include the US, Canada, the UK and Italy.

Jay Marine, global head of sports, Prime Video, added: “This partnership with DAZN is an exciting step forward for Prime Video’s global sports offering, and gives our customers more choice of the best live and on-demand sports.”

With Amazon Prime increasingly positioning itself as the industry’s most broad-based content aggregator, DAZN will join other streaming services including HBO Max, Discovery+, Paramount+ Lionsgate+ and Showtime on the platform.
