DAZN announces series of broadcast deals for ‘historic’ Women’s Champions League final

Sports streamer DAZN has announced a series of sublicencing deals across Europe for this weekend’s UEFA Women’s Champions League final.

DAZN has agreed deals with ITV in the UK & Ireland, TF1 in France, RTVE and TV3 in Spain, RTBF in Belgium, SVT Sweden, plus NRK Norway, Sport5 Israel and RUV Iceland. It said that further deals will be revealed in the coming days.

The match will also be streamed live on DAZN and DAZN’s dedicated UEFA Women’s Champions League YouTube channel.

The final will take place in Turin between reigning champions Barcelona and Lyon, with the Catalan team’s semi-final triumph over Real Madrid attracting a 2.7  million live viewers.

DAZN is currently at the end of year one of a four year deal to broadcast the competition, having shown all matches for free on YouTube in a landmark deal for the sport. Up to the final, DAZN has recorded 55.9 million streams/views and counting across DAZN and DAZN’s UEFA Women’s Champions League YouTube channel, with 40.6M views attributed to the DAZN UWCL YouTube channel and 15.3M streams attributed to the DAZN platform.

In total, sports fans spent 11.1 million total hours streaming the premier women’s football competition across DAZN and DAZN’s UEFA Women’s Champions League YouTube channel.
