Orange Romania launches converged offerings, integrates TV service

Orange Romania will on Monday complete the integration of the former Telekom Romania’s fixed-line business, bringing both mobile and fixed line services under the Orange brand, and will launch a new converged offering. Orange will also bring together the pair’s sports TV offerings.

Orange completed its acquisition of a 54% controlling stake in the fixed line operations of the former Telekom Romania Communications, now renamed Orange Romania Communications, On March 28, all of the fixed line products and services that fell under the former fixed line operator will have been transitioned to the Orange brand.

Over the last six months, half of Orange Romania Communications’ customers with mobile services, associated to fixed-mobile subscriptions, have started to be gradually transferred to the Orange Romania mobile network.

Orange will now launch a new nationwide converged offer which it says is the first package in Romania that includes fibre connectivity with speeds of up to 1.8 Gbps, a Wi-Fi 6 router, mobile services on the Orange network and TV with a variety of content including Orange Sport channels, and HBO & HBO Max options included for 12 months.

On the TV front, the Orange and Orange Romania Communications TV grids will soon include Orange 1, 2, 3 and 4 sports channels, bringing the UEFA Champions League, League 1, League 2 and Romanian Cup, La Liga and Serie A, NBA basketball (NBA), EHF Champions League European Cup handball, Six Nations rugby and Formula 1 to customers’ smart TV, phone or tablet.
