coocaa launches lite smart TV operating system for Southeast Asian market

New Delhi-based smart TV tech provider coocaa has announced the launch of a new operating system.

Coolita OS is the brand’s first self-developed smart TV OS, and will initially target Southeast Asian markets including India, Indonesia, Thailand, and Vietnam.

The OS is a lite Web OS built on Linux kernel that promises to offer a lighter, smoother, and more convenient smart TV experience. It comes with access to a wide range of apps and services including YouTube, while users can also utilise coocaa’s CC Cast tech to cast content from Android devices to the TV without the need for an internet or WiFi connection.

Other features of the lite TV OS include pre-installed lite cloud games, a built-in Internet browser, an app store and a Data Saver that provides real-time data reminders to help people easily manage their data usage.

The first Coolita-powered TV is the coocaa S3U Pro, a 32-inch LED TV set available on Flipkart for INR14,999 (€173.24).

Raul Hua, General Manager of Coolita Global Business Department, said: “We are excited to announce a new technology direction with the launch of our very own smart TV operating system, Coolita OS. This revolutionary new operating system is the fruit of our deep understanding of evolving consumer needs coupled with our team’s rich engineering expertise and strong dedication to making smart TV experiences more accessible to all.

“Through our ongoing innovation and strategic partnerships, we hope to create a bigger, better smart TV ecosystem, which will bring about new industry collaborations that will result in even more trendy and technologically advanced products for people all around the world to enjoy.”
