Swiss telco Salt has announced a partnership with Universal Electronics Inc. (UEI) to offer its voice-enabled Apple TV 4K remote control.
New Salt customers subscribing to the Salt Home broadband offer will automatically receive UEI’s Apple TV remote control with Apple TV 4K, while existing customers can purchase it as a standalone accessory in store or online.
The UEI Apple TV remote combines Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) connectivity together with Infrared to provide universal control, and features a range of features such as advanced search and control, enhanced controls for live TV, automated backlit keys and others.
Paul Arling, Chairman and CEO of UEI, said: “We enjoyed working with Salt on this project as the Apple TV remote is one of our most exciting new offerings built with the customer in mind. We look forward to opportunities to work with them in the future.”
This is the latest deal between UEI and a major European pay TV operator, and comes after the vendor signed a deal with Deutsche Telekom in Germany last month.
