Allente brings Canal Digital and Viasat Consumer together

Allente, the combined Nordic pay TV service from that brings together the former Canal Digital offering from Telenor and Nordic Entertainment’s Viasat Consumer, has officially launched.

The launch means that the Canal Digital and Viasat Consumer brands will be phased out. Existing customers of thelegacy services will retain their existing content line-ups as they are gradually phased over to the Allente platfor, while new custgoemrs will beoffered a range of new packages.

Allente has said it plans to expand it existing product portfolio to offer something new to customers.

The current line-up is divided into four different TV packages, where the popular streaming service Viaplay – with titles such as Wisting , Delete me and Maskineriet – is included in three of these. In addition, Paramount + has chosen Allente as one of its Nordic partners, and is included – just like Viaplay – in three of the TV packages Allente offers. It gives customers access to content from Showtime, CBS, Nickelodeon, MTV, Paramount Studios and Comedy Central, among others

“Allente stands for All Entertainment, and that’s really what we now offer our customers. Regardless of whether you are looking for sports, series, movies, documentaries, news or Friday night entertainment, you can find it with us. Although satellite TV is still the best choice for those who want top quality and no time delay in the broadcast when your favourite team plays a game, an upgraded broadband solution can also make it possible for even more people to participate in our TV universe,” said Mahmoud Mustapha, chief operating officer of Allente.

“TV is more important than ever, and our customers want to watch TV both linearly, on demand and via streaming services. With our packaging, you get in a bag and sack, at the same time as you get quick access to the entire selection via the user-friendly Allente app – in case you have gotten a little tired of using the remote control.”

Bjørn Ivar Moen, CEO, said: “What our employees have achieved in the last year is nothing short of fantastic. We have merged two companies, value chains and cultures – completely without meeting physically. It has undoubtedly been a significant challenge, but we have solved it – with innovation, strong cooperation and a good portion of courage. As well as a good number of Teams meetings, of course. That is why we are extra proud of the company we are launching today. We have not only successfully managed a merger, but we have managed to do it in the middle of a pandemic. Now is the time for our customers to enjoy the results of our work.”
