Ma promoted to CTO at FreeWheel

Comcast-owned ad-tech company FreeWheel has announced the appointment of Yuling Ma as its chief technology officer.

The exec will be responsible for leading development and operation of FreeWheel’s tech platform along with its network operations and global engineering team.

Ma has been promoted from her previous role of senior vice president of engineering and general manager of FreeWheel’s Beijing office. She succeeds FreeWheel co-founder Diane Yu, who left the company last month.

Ma initially joined the Comcast-owned company from Chinese leading B2B e-commerce company JD.com. She also held roles at Pegasus and Verizon.

 FreeWheel general manager Dave Clark, said: “Since joining FreeWheel two years ago, Yuling has impressed us with her leadership and vision for how to best evolve the FreeWheel technology upon which our industry has come to depend. She brings deep experience leading world-class engineering teams and is the transformational leader our industry needs for its next phase of evolution.
