Austria-based IPTV platform technology specialist Ocilion has named former Discovery Germany executive Thomas Bichlmeir in the new position of head of content.
Bichlmeir will be responsible with his team for expanding the company’s content partner strategy and the content offering for networks operators and the hospitality sector, including hotels, schools and hospitals.
He will be tasked with overseeing the group’s channel and foreign language packages, pay TV, video on demand, apps and media libraries. Bichlmeir will be a member of the Ocilion management team and reports directly to CEO Hans Kühberger.
Bichlmeir was previously director, distribution and commercial strategy’ at Discovery Networks Germany, responsible for the expansion of free TV, pay TV and direct-to-consumer efforts. He has also worked for Munich-based telecommunications company M-net, the Kirch Group and Cap-Gemini.
