Molotov now available via Alexa on Amazon Echo Show and Fire TV

French OTT TV service Molotov is now available via Amazon Alexa’s voice assistant across the Amazon Echo Show connected screen and Amazon Fire TV Cube and Stick streaming devices.

Molotov is the first French TV distributor to make its content available on the Amazon Echo Show, offering what it described as a TV experience adapted to voice-controlled TV.

Molotov said it was particularly enthusiastic about the way voice-enabled technologies, which are growing in popularity, have improved the user experience for entertainment services.

Molotov users can install the Molotov Skill on their Amazon Echo Show devices free of charge, enabling them to search for and play live, catch-up and on-demand content in any location in their homes.

Users can ask Alexa to search, play and control programmes on Molotov through the use of commands such as “Alexa, play [a channel] on Molotov”, “ Alexa, start from the beginning”, “Alexa, look for a comedy” or “Alexa, find a film with [an actor’s name]”.

Users can also watch Molotov on their TV screens via Amazon Fire TV Cube or Stick devices using voice commands.

Molotov is also integrating Amazon Echo Show into the list of devices supported by Molotov Solutions, the B2B arm it set up to serve third-party streaming outfits.
