Parrot Analytics: La Casa De Papel continues to dominate

La Casa de Papel (Money Heist)

Netflix’s Spanish smash series La Casa De Papel (Money Heist) has continued to prove compelling viewing for audiences, with it being the clear top of Parrot Analytics’ originals in-demand chart for the week ending April 19 in Italy.

Parrot Analytics analyses the demand for recent popular digital titles across international markets, based on the application of artificial intelligence to expressions of demand across social media, fan sites, peer-to-peer protocols and file-sharing platforms.

The Spanish-language hit was the favourite in the country with 9,140,474 average demand expressions, more than double that of Disney+’s The Mandalorian in second (with 4,403,510 average demand expressions) and Stranger Things (third, 4,186,043 average demand expressions).

Unsurprisingly, Netflix dominates the list with six of the titles. In addition to the aforementioned duo of Money Heist and Stranger Things, are Lucifer in fourth, Narcos in fifth, Black Mirror in sixth and The Witcher in eighth. Noteworthy in its absence is surprise success story Tiger King – which Netflix revealed had been watched by more than 64 million households in its first four weeks.

Other titles from major streamers include CBS All Access’s Star Trek: Picard in seventh with  2,873,339 average demand expressions and Tales From The Loop, the tabletop game adaptation from Amazon Prime Video in 10th.

Rounding out the list in ninth is Timvision original Skam Italia – the Italian international remake of breakout Norweigan original Skam.
