Insight announces Turkish expansion

4K UHD broadcaster Insight TV has signed a deal with pay TV platform D-Smart, making Turkey the 45th country in which the company will operate. 

D-Smart is owned by the the Demirören Group and offers TV and internet services to more than one million households in Turkey.

Subscribers will gain access to Insight TV’s content through the company’s DTH service. Though only initially available in HD, subscribers will soon be able to access Insight in 4K UHD through D-Smart Go, the platform’s OTT service.

This marks the latest announcement at the start of a busy year for Insight. The company previously announced that it had signed a tech deal with vendor Amagi, and hired Marco Frazier – formerly of AMC – as its senior vice president of Insight TV Studios US.

Similarly, the is the latest deal for D-Smart, which last week renewed and extended its partnership with content provider SPI/FilmBox.
