ESPN adds NHL to ESPN Player in Europe and Africa

ESPN has acquired the rights to the NHL for its ESPN Player OTT product across Europe and Africa. 

Coverage includes countries such as Belgium, Italy, Spain, South Africa and Greece. The deal sees three live games per week during the regular season along with on-demand access. Every game of the Stanley Cup Playoffs, the sport’s premiere tournament, will be available live and on demand. 

Coverage started with the match between Calgary Flames and Colorado Avalanche on December 10, and will continue on December 12 with Boston Bruins away at the Washington Capitals. 

ESPN Player is ESPN’s leading multi-device, OTT subscription service available in the UK and across Europe, the Middle East and Africa, streaming exclusive premium sports content live and on-demand to more than 40 countries.

In the UK, a monthly pass is available for £6.99, and starts with a seven day free trial, while a 24 hour pass is available for £4.99.
