OnePlus has lifted the lid on the TV it’s been working on since last September, revealing the name and logo of its smart TV.
In a forum post, the company announced that the set will be named the OnePlus TV, a name “that is born out of the “Never Settle” spirit and “burdenless” design philosophy,” the company touts.
The Chinese vendor is primarily known for its smartphones, but announced a surprise move into the living room in September 2018. OnePlus TV is being developed by a new division in the company that is being led by OnePlus CEO and co-founder Pete Lau.
The company also showed off the OnePlus TV logo which, like the name of the TV itself, is simply the OnePlus logo with the word TV next to it. The forum post explains that the designers were inspired by “classic geometric progression such as the ancient Hindu symbol, the mandala, and the famous ancient Greek temple, Heraion of Argos.”
Asides from those two details, little is known of the OnePlus TV. A recent Bluetooth SIG filing would suggest that the TV will use LED panels, run Android TV and come in sizes between 43- and 75-inches.
The OnePlus TV is rumoured to launch in late September.
