All Media Baltics, the Providence Equity Partners-backed outfit that took control of Modern Times Group’s assets in the Baltic states in 2017, is to launch an OTT TV offering and has tapped Atende Software to provide its redGalaxy platform for it.
The new service will be available across Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania and will offer a range of local and international sports and entertainment content, including live TV channels, news, premium sports, original movies and series and exclusive access to All Media Baltics flagship TV shows for subscribers to view on smartphones, tablets, web Android set-top-box and smart TVs.
Priit Leito, CEO of All Media Estonia, last year said that All Media Baltics was planning to launch a new streaming platform that would unite current AVOD and SVOD offerings, including the local Viaplay offering.
He said that the company’s aim was to be “the Coca-Cola of video” by being available on all platforms.
Atende Software will provide its redGalaxy OTT platforms and deliver a multi-tenant white-label OTT backend, along with branded end-user applications for web, Android, iOS, Android TV Operator Tier, Samsung SmartTV and LG webOS platforms.
The platform will be integrated with an existing OTT headend, based on Anevia’s technology, and with CRM, self-care and billing systems. Content security, based on Microsoft Playready, Google Widevine and Apple FairPlay DRM systems will be provided as a part of the agreement.
Jan Wykrytowicz, pay TV CEO of All Media Baltics said: “Atende Software brings well recognised OTT solution and an impressive track record in successful implementation and project delivery to our markets. We are delighted to cooperate with Atende Software and are looking forward to providing our viewers with a new, world-class entertainment experience.”
Przemysław Frasunek, multimedia director of Atende Software said: “We are very honoured that AMB has chosen our solution at the end of a very competitive international tender process. The Baltic countries are European leaders in Digitalisation and being able to bring our solution and services to 3 new markets is a very important step for us. redGalaxy enables All Media Baltics to deliver next generation TV services for all most important end-user platforms. Thanks to multi-tenancy support, the service can be easily deployed for multiple brands.”
