NBCUniversal International’s reality TV-focused SVOD service, Hayu, has gone live in Canada.
The subscription service launched with more than 6,000 episodes of content from over 200 reality shows – including Keeping Up with the Kardashians, The Real Housewives and Million Dollar Listing.
“We’re thrilled to now be delivering the innovative all-reality SVOD service – Hayu – in Canada,” said Hendrik McDermott, senior vice-president, branded on-demand, NBCUniversal International.
“The proven healthy appetite for reality programming amongst Canadian viewers is reinforced by early enthusiasm for Hayu, with thousands already bingeing on multiple favourite shows – and we are excited to build momentum with Canadian subscribers.”
Hayu is already available in the UK, Ireland, Australia, Norway, Sweden, Finland and Denmark and is priced at C$5.99 per month in Canada.
It is available online, as an app for iOS and Android, and on a range of different devices including Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV and on Roku in the UK, Ireland and Canada.
NBCU first announced earlier this year that it planned to make Canada Hayu’s eighth launch market.
